STUDY IN FINLAND

Finland has 13 universities and 22 universities of applied sciences (UAS).:

English-taught degree programs are offered on bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels.Finland offers over bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, which are taught in English.

Universities of applied sciences in Finland offer professionally oriented higher education on bachelor's and master's level and have strong ties with working life and regional development.

University bachelor's degrees in Finland are completed in 3 years. Some degree programs can go up to 4.5 years.

University Masters degrees in Finland can be completed between 1 year to 2 years. Admissions for Masters courses at Universities of Applied Sciences require the applicant to have 2 years relevant work experience.

Phd Doctoral courses in Finland can take up to 4 years to be completed. In Finland, there are no tuition fees for doctoral students, but you must finance your own living expenses.

Finnish and Swedish are the two official languages of Finland. Whether you're moving here for studies, work, learning these languages can make your experience much worhtwhile.

EDUFI Fellowship in a nutshell:

Students undertaking a two year full time study in Finland become eligible to apply for 1 year work permit.

The applicant must have enrolled to study in a Finnish university department to pursue a Doctoral course. The applicant can be a young researcher from outside Finland. The purpose of this funding is for completing a doctoral research project in Finland. 1,900 euros/month is paid to the Young researcher.

Residence Permits for students:.

The student residence permit can be granted for the full length of your studies and allows you to work up to 30 hours per week. For research or doctoral studies, you will need a separate residence permit for scientific research, valid for up to two years. Finland offers a 2-year post study permit which allows you to look for work or start a business.
